In this private tour you’ll visit the colorful town of Guatapé, located 2 hours away from Medellín, where we have the rock of El Peñol, that you can get to the top (708 steps) to enjoy an amazing landscape of the man made lake of this region, after that we’re ready to ride the ATV’s (we also have UTV option) in the surrounding areas of the rock, where you’ll get unforgettable views of the rock from different angles (The ATV ride is in Guatapé), then we’ll go to the town of Guatapé to stroll around the landmarks and to know the history and stories of the traditional “zócalos”.

Our guide Henry was fantastic—super friendly, easy to talk to, and full of great stories that made the history come alive. I really liked how he connected the past to the Medellín of today, which gave a much deeper understanding of the city. Very delicious! A delight of walking! We stayed around 4 hours in a “finca” of coffee listening about the different methods of making coffee and then we played to participate in the harvesting process. The owner's son is named Juan Pablo and is very friendly. We saw the machinery, walked through the farm (that 17 thousand feet of coffee) and at the end we bought a package of their brand. Simple and tasty! And the best part is that it's close to Medellin. I recommend! It's worth it! The guide Oscar is very nice, explains everything and was very attentive.Publicado enVerificada Fantastic Tour Where You Actually Make Chocolate! This was probably the best chocolate experience I’ve done, even after having traveled to Europe. Most chocolate tours I’ve been on talk you through the process of making chocolate, then you are presented with a bunch of chocolates that you can buy. This tour was different in that you start in the actual field, picking some of the cocoa pods from the tree. Sandra, who makes the chocolate, takes you through every step of the process and you do most of the work! You pick the pods, dig out the seed s (you can eat the pulp around the seed and it’s actually pretty good!), roast them, peel the cocoa beans with a Sandra and her mother, then decide how much sugar to add to your chocolate. You’ll have to do the tour to know the rest of the process! Yuly was my guide for the day and took me out to the farm and she was fantastic to converse with and exchange information about our countries.
